1st daughter Ma Wei-chung isn't in Taipei for marriage

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- First daughter Lesley Ma Wei-chung isn't back in Taipei from New York for marriage, a spokesman for President Ma Ying-jeou said yesterday.

Tony Wang urged paparazzi to leave Lesley Ma alone at a hastily called press conference at the Office of the President. “Give the first family a respite,” Wang said. “There's no such thing as a marriage for Miss Lesley Ma,” he added. Local media have been tailing the first daughter since her return from New York on Monday.
