Updated Saturday, April 11, 2009 9:29 am TWN, The China Post news staff Ex-gov't officials indicted for leaking data to ChenFormer Defense Minister Ko Cheng-heng and ex-director of the Investigation Bureau Yeh Sheng-mao are charged for passing on to Chen classified information concerning the probe into the ex-leader's alleged crimes, the prosecutors in Taipei said. According to the indictment, the prosecutorial anti-corruption task force was investigating Chen over alleged misuse of presidential expenses in October 2006 when it asked the Defense Ministry for help. A sealed envelope was sent containing a letter requesting information on secret diplomatic funding that Chen might have used. Ko, handling the matter, made a copy of the letter and sent it to Chen, the prosecutors said. In the same month, Yeh received a letter from the task force notifying him that the prosecutors were investigating bank accounts belonging to Chen and his family. But Yeh then faxed the letter to Presidential Office, the prosecutors said.
