Chiu Yi to report judge for releasing ex-president

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Chiu Yi, KMT lawmaker known as Taiwan’s “scandal buster,” yesterday said he will report Chou Chan-chun, the judge who released ex-president Chen Shui-bian Saturday morning without bail, to the Control Yuan, Taiwan’s highest government watchdog body.

Chou early Saturday morning shocked the whole nation by letting Chen, who was indicted Friday for several counts of graft and corruption charges, go without bail.

“There were financial holding firm and telecom firm executives who were going to come forward. Now they are not going to anymore because of Chen’s release,” Chiu said. “How can there be more witnesses willing to come forward in the future, when they are concerned about their safety?”

Speaking about judge Chou, Chiu said Chou granted bail on many Chen case witnesses and defendants, yet he failed to do so on Chen. “Isn’t this a double standard?” Chiu asked.

Chiu said the judge has demonstrated malfeasance in doing this and will report him to the Control Yuan today.

Mr. Chiu Yi - We as Taiwanese are very proud of you and will stand behind the work you do. Keep pounding, so justice is served.

Above having all the evidence Ah Bian (feel ashamed to call him our President) was set free temporarily by Judge Chou - what does this say about our legal system? One word would describe everything: "CORRUPTED.”

Even after Ah Bian on national TV already admitted that he was lawfully wrong about the funds transferred to his son’s (Jr. Ah Bian) Swiss account, he was set free....???

In this scenario Judge Chou probably left his scale of justice at home.
