Students safe from China enrolee competition: MOEVice Education Minister Lu Mu-lin said students from China would be treated like overseas Chinese and international students who currently are given separate university enrollment quotas. It would be impossible to ask students in China to take all those aptitude tests and entrance exams that Taiwan students currently are required to sit for, Lu said. The Education Ministry will seek to revise the law to allow students from China to study in Taiwan, Lu added. But Lu said the ministry is still working on details concerning quotas and enrollment procedures. There has been concern Taiwan students may see fewer opportunities to get into good universities if students from China are allowed into Taiwan higher education institutions.
