Company officials said 13.8 million EasyCards had been issued to date to help consumers pay for transportation-related services in Taipei City and Taipei County.
The name “EasyCard” has gained higher recognition value than the company’s moniker, compelling the firm to change its name to support its efforts to expand into Keelung, Yilan, Matsu and elsewhere. The decision was made by the company’s board so that consumers will easily identify it and its services, the company said.
EasyCard Corp. was founded in March 2000, with the mission of integrating the ticketing system of buses, the mass rapid transit system and parking lots, providing citizens with a convenient and seamless transportation environment.
