17,000 people visit Yunlin Agri-Expo's first trial day

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- About 17,000 visited the Yunlin Agri-Expo on the first day of its trial operation yesterday.

The purpose of the trial was to test the conditions of facilities and staff services, said the Yunlin County Government. Yunlin County Magistrate Su Chih-fen pointed out that there are some problems that need to be addressed. For example, signs are not clear enough for people to read, leading people to complain that it was like walking in a maze, sources said.

Another problem is insufficient access to drinking water and few spaces accessible to disabled people. Su says there will be drinking water stations beside each exhibition.

The county government hopes to improve upon these issues as soon as possible. The Yunlin Agriculture Expo will open on Dec. 24. The expo will show sustainable and healthy methods of agriculture in Taiwan.
