Updated Saturday, April 30, 2011 0:00 am TWN, CNA Yunlin chief Su Chih-fen cleared of bribery chargesSu, who is a member of the Democratic Progressive Party, was previously indicted for allegedly receiving bribes, in November 2008, from contractors who were building a waste disposal site and a hospital in her county. In the indictment, prosecutors were gunning for a 15-year prison sentence for Su. She began an 11-day hunger strike while she was held in detention Nov. 4, 2008, against what she claimed to be “judicial persecution” against her.
