3 American teens arrested for smoking on flightThe three teenagers, two male and one female, took the China Airlines CI-005 flight from Los Angeles, transferring in Taipei to Thailand. They smoked in the washroom one by one on the flight to Taipei. The flight attendants smelled the smoke and warned them against it. But they ignored the warning and continued to smoke. The flight attendants reported the case to the land attendants at Taoyuan International Airport. When the flight arrived Taipei at 9:30 p.m., Taiwan's aviation police arrested them. The Aviation Police examined the cigarette butts they smoked and proved that they are cigarettes and not marijuana. The teenagers had left Taipei to Thailand yesterday morning. Aviation Police Office said they will send the bills to the addresses in the United States they filed in. If they do not pay the fines, they will not be allowed to enter Taiwan. The aviation police said smoking on planes would affect the safety of the flight. They have sent the files to the Civil Aeronautics Administration to determine the amount of the fines.
