Updated Tuesday, January 26, 2010 9:48 am TWN, CNA Remodeled pistol and bullets found at Taoyuan AirportPolice said a female cleaner spotted a large leather bag behind a newspaper vending machine in the Terminal 2 departure lounge yesterday afternoon. The cleaner was shocked when she found a remodeled Beretta pistol and 12 bullets inside the bag, according to police. She immediately reported the case to aviation police. The incident caused special concern as it came at a crucial time and location. Aviation police sent officers to comb areas in the vicinity of the vending machine and scrutinize security video footage in hopes of collecting evidence and uncovering who placed the gun and ammunition there. Police officers said they will conduct a thorough search to track down suspects. The incident took place hours before President Ma departed on his fourth overseas trip since his inauguration in May 2008. The tour will take him to Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
