Man assaults two women at Jiantan MRT station

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Two women were injured Tuesday when an unidentified man attacked them with his fists at Jiantan Station in the Taipei MRT system, emergency workers said. The two women, one 18 and the other 50, were rushed to hospital with knee and facial injuries, respectively, Taipei firefighters said.

The incident occurred close to noon near the ticket booth at Jiantan Station, firefighters said.

They said the attacker left the station on a motorcycle, and police are now searching for him.
