TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Taipei 307 bus route today will conduct a daylong “charity drive,” whereby the earnings of the 307 fleet for the day will be donated to the victims of the Kaohsiung gas explosions.
With the goal of helping the victims of the explosions that took place in Kaohsiung on Thursday, July 31, the Capital Bus Company and Taipei Bus Company stated that they will donate today's income from their 307 joint-operation route to the relief fund of the Kaohsiung City Government's Social Affairs Bureau.
The chairman of Capital Bus and Taipei Bus Li Po-wen (李博文) further stated that the 307 route has the highest daily boarding numbers of any route in Taiwan, carrying on average 70,000 passengers with approximately NT$1.1 million in revenue per day. The companies wish to fulfill their social obligations, Lee said.
Reportedly, 307 buses will conduct their daily route with the words “Caring Bus, Assist Kaohsiung” on their windshield display screens, aiming to implore Taipei and New Taipei citizens to show their support for the people of greater Kaohsiung.
