TAIPEI, Taiwan -- It is the ninth year for Celebration Canada — one of the largest foreign National Day celebration events in Taiwan— to commemorate Canada Day for the over 50,000 Canadians living and working in Taiwan, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan said recently.
The full-day festival of Canadian culture, music, food, art and outdoor activities for families and children will kick off on Saturday, June 28 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Taipei Hakka Cultural Park (台北市客家文化主題公園).
The celebration will attract attendees throughout the international and local Taiwanese communities, the chamber said.
Celebration Canada is an outdoor festival that will share the best of Canadian culture with the local community, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan said, adding that it is expecting a crowd larger than ever before as the free-of-charge outdoor event will present Canadian fine arts, live music, food, drinks and sports.
The festival welcomes families taking their children to experience face-painting, hockey games and fun in the bouncy castle, and to mark Canada's 147th birthday in Taipei, the chamber said.
