Young boy falls onto MRT track, saved by passenger

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A 10-year-old boy fell off the edge of a platform at MRT Shuanglian station but was rescued by a nearby passenger, the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation said yesterday.
The boy was on the edge of the platform bound for Beitou at Shaunglian station when he fell onto the track. Luckily, a fellow passenger waiting at the platform pulled him up at once, with the entire incident taking less than four minutes. The boy was conscious after being saved, with some bruises on his head. He was sent to Mackay Memorial Hospital for further treatment accompanied by his family.
Taipei Metro operations were not affected by the accident.
