DHL, ex-Man U players unveil Barclays Premier League trophy
By Adam Tyrsett Kuo , The China PostTAIPEI, Taiwan -- DHL Express Taiwan yesterday unveiled the Barclays Premier League trophy in Taipei as part of the company's “United Trophy Tour,” which spans 31 destinations in 25 countries worldwide, featuring former Manchester United defender Ronny Johnsen and midfielder Quinton Fortune to attend.

DHL, Manchester United's Official Logistics Partner, staged the event in celebration of the Old Trafford-based soccer club's record 20th Premier League title.
Johnsen and Fortune, who arrived in Taiwan for the first time, said that they were surprised by the number and enthusiasm of the fans that approached them in Taipei.
The two also took Tianmu Elementary School students through soccer drills at the event. Afterward, the children were each given a soccer ball as a souvenir
DHL Express Taiwan Managing Director CHEE Yaw Chek said, “For 40 years in Taiwan, DHL has shared the commitment to excellence that Manchester United displays year after year on the football pitch.”
The managing director added that both his firm and the English football club share many of the same core values and characteristics, such as “speed,” “(getting) things right the first time,” a “can-do spirit” and “teamwork.”
In 2011, DHL became Manchester United's first official training kit sponsor, an event which was widely described by international media as a groundbreaking deal for English association football.
The managing director said that 2013 has been an interesting year for his firm, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in Taiwan. Earlier this year, DHL Express Taiwan was also lauded by the Taipei City government as the best company to work for.
