When feeding time comes, zoo officials first wipe the panda cub's mouth and touch its mouth with the nipple of a baby bottle.
Yuanzai, which cannot yet see, then starts greedily sucking the milk from the bottle, zoo official Chang Chi-hua said in describing the cub's feeding habits.
The panda cub's hearty appetite is a sign of good health, Chang added.
Yuanzai was fed four times Saturday, consuming a total of 135.4 milliliters of milk, according to the zoo, and it now weighs 481.6 grams, more than double the 183.4 grams it weighed at birth on July 6.
The cub's mother, Yuan Yuan, and her mate, Tuan Tuan, were gifted to Taiwan by China in late 2008 as a cross-Taiwan Strait gesture of good will. Yuanzai is their first cub.
