TAIPEI--A travel fair targeting Taiwanese who plan to travel during the Lunar New Year holiday will open on Jan. 4, with more than 130 exhibitors scheduled to participate, the show's organizer said Saturday.
Travel agencies, hotel operators and restaurants will be at the show pitching deals for travel during the Feb. 9-17 Lunar New Year period, said Chou Tsen, project manager of the 2013 International Winter Travel Fair.
"The industry is eyeing a sales surge since we have a longer than-usual Lunar New Year break," Chou said.
Now in its third year, the event is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors, slightly more than the 2012 show drew, she said.
The fair will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. Admission is NT$100 (US$3).
