The China Post news staff--The France-Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFT) held its annual “Bastille Day” Gala Dinner at the Regent Hotel in Taipei on July 7.
About 390 top-rank executives from the French-Taiwanese business community attended the event with the theme “Provence” for this year, referring to the French region located in the southeast of France, near the Mediterranean sea and famous for great international festivals held every year in cities such as Marseille, Avignon, Cannes and others.
The gala featured juggling performances, a “magic crystal ball” show and a unique jazz band. A petanque corner was especially set up for people to experience this traditional game — played with hollow metal balls — that originated in Provence.
A photo booth also enabled guests to capture memories of the night. Finally, guests had the opportunity to win over 50 prizes during a lucky draw, including a round trip ticket from Taipei to Paris sponsored by Eva Air.
The event was sponsored by CCIFT members including Societe Generale and L'Oreal, Air Liquide, Alcatel-Lucent, Carrefour, Fatton and D. Forman & Associates, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, RT-Mart, Safran, Senteur d'Oc, TAK Associes, Total, The Landis Taipei and Veolia.
