Thai eatery asks CF to apologize for faulty reportThe Thai restaurant emphasized that they have always served boneless beef and have already added the labels of meat's origin to their menus after the inspection, thus asking the CF to run half-page apology notice on major local newspapers within three days to help restore their affected reputations. However, the CF responded that apologies were unnecessary since the results of the inspections conducted by volunteers were flawless. The female volunteer visited VeryThai on March 14 evening for the inspection, being told by the restaurant staff that they did not have a certificate of meat source and thus left the CF's phone number for them to update their information, added the CF. The restaurant yet refuted that the store manager clearly informed the volunteer that they never served U.S. bone-in beef; moreover, they failed to reach the CF on March 16 and March 17 via the given number. On Thursday, the CF revealed that 52 percent of the 50 restaurants inspected by its volunteers failed to label meat source at the entrance, two of which sold U.S. bone-in beef, including VeryThai. | |||||||||||||
