Updated Tuesday, February 9, 2010 12:07 am TWN, The China Post news staff Traffic control measures imposed near Taipei marts for Lunar New YearIllegal parking will immediately face tickets or see their cars towed away on streets surrounding leading department stores and New Year food products centers as well as the markets offering vegetables, fruits, flowers and seafood products. Beginning on Feb. 13 (New Year's Eve) lasting until Feb. 21, only private vehicles with permits issued to residents, working staff or those performing public duties are allowed to enter the Yangmingshan district on the northern suburbs. Traffic controls will also be imposed on designated scenic spots during the period. The affected places will include Taipei Zoo, Maokong Tea Garden area and Zhihnan Temple in Muzha District as well as other popular religious centers, including Lungshan Temple, Xingtian Temple, Chihyou Temple and Guandu Temple. To ease possible traffic snarls at the newly opened Taipei Bus Terminal located behind the Taipei Railway Station, long-distance buses coming to Taipei from central and southern Taiwan will let passengers get off only at temporary bus stops set up near the entrance of Chengde Road (Section 1). Traffic police officers said people who plan to receive or pick up family and friends coming on buses should not crowd into the bus terminal building for the prescribed period.
