Yet at around 8 a.m. yesterday, the line experienced a circuit malfunction and transportations were halted for around 30 minutes. Taipei Rapid Transit Corp (TRTC) suspended the line's operation right away and staff drove the four stuck trains manually back to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, Xinhai Station, Linguang Station and Daan Station. Service was resumed at 8:33 a.m., but around 1,736 passengers had already been affected by the delay. According to local news report, TRTC had to issue 1,655 proofs of delay for passengers who needed it for their work or school. Many complained that TRTC should dispatch shuttle buses right after the system malfunction. The TRTC Vice President Chao Hsiung-fei made an official apology immediately after the incident yesterday. In addition, MRT's Bannan Line also experienced a delay after a male passenger surnamed Chiu jumped toward the track at Shandao Temple Station.
