Updated Tuesday, November 24, 2009 5:40 pm TWN, The China Post news staff Former news anchor suffers trauma after cosmetic surgeryA former news anchorwoman yesterday cried that her skin became reddish and swollen after undergoing cosmetic plastic surgeries at a clinic that she had endorsed on infomercials. Chen Chia-hui, an anchorwoman-turned-entertainer experienced Fractional co2 laser operation and whitening procedures in October. The patient complained in her press conference that the clinic, “Jin-Mei Yi-Mei”(勁美醫美) did not follow the standard procedures, and used Fractional co2 laser on her face immediately after putting on anesthetics. Her face became allergic at once, and some black burn scars appeared, according to the alleged victim. Chen said that the clinic alleged that these symptoms were normal post the laser surgery adding that she would be fine after seven days. Her skin conditions, however, only got worse instead, Chen said. In her subsequent dealings with the laser service provider, the clinic's staff either hung up on her phone calls or accused of failed results from applying inappropriate ointments on face, Chen said furiously. According to Chen, she earned money with a “pretty face,” and cannot accept this kind of damage to her physical looks. The clinic had asked her to name a figure for damages, but she has not heard anything from the facility since she requested NT$400,000, Chen added. The local public health bureau said it had to investigate the medical information before making a comment. Subscribe to The China Post and save 25%. Click here |
