'I Can' subscribers can get refund for subscriptions

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Subscribers to Greenland Bookstore's monthly family magazine “I Can,” which is to be suspended by the end of December, can receive a full refund or change subscriptions to other publications as Greenland came to an agreement with the Taipei County consumer protection office yesterday.

In a surprise move, Greenland Bookstore announced the suspension of “I Can,” affecting more than 2,000 subscribers. Many people subscribed to “I Can” for more than one year, and up to five years, said Young Shun-hui, a Taipei County consumer protection officer.

Greenland Bookstore agreed to refund costumers or offered other publications in exchange. The Taipei County Government also asked Greenland to send a report concerning how transactions are handled before Jan. 10.
