Updated Sunday, November 22, 2009 12:01 am TWN, The China Post news staff Runaway Vietnamese couple caught in HsinchuThe female Vietnamese worker, Chuang Hui, checked into a local clinic on Nov. 14 for pains from a possible case of pancreatitis. She was later transferred to Taiwan Adventist Hospital in Taipei City. Chuang fled before she was scheduled to receive a CT scan, according to the NIA. The NIA found out that Chuang was on the run with her boyfriend Fan Wen-ching, also a Vietnamese worker. The officials assumed Chuang would seek pain-killers for her ailment. They directed their search toward clinics and pharmacies. According to the information from a drug store, NIA and police officials found the couple in an apartment in Hsichih City. In order to escape from the police, the couple climbed up to the roof on the water pipes along the wall. The couple was persuaded by the officials to give themselves up.
