Suspected thieves for costly bicycles arrested

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Law enforcement officials arrested three suspects who allegedly stole and sold expensive bicycles on Nov. 16.

The three, surnamed Chiang, Liang and Chang, were all above the age of 60, according to the police.

The suspects stole expensive bicycles around schools and MRT stations, and purchased used bikes with a very low price, said the police.

The group refitted the parts, repainted the models and sold them for at least NT$1,000, said the authorities.

The suspects' store was open between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and they only did business with familiar customers.

The cops found some 24 bikes in the store. Cyclists can call at (02) 2311-8881 to search for their missing bikes.
