Students fill dealer courses for prospective jobs in gaming industryTCMT celebrated the opening of Taiwan's first comprehensive dealer training institute yesterday. The Global Gaming Training Center features professional teachers from Macau to teach students the shuffling and dealing of cards using gaming equipment and gaming tables imported from Macau, said the media. Upon completion of the training course, students can also take tests for international licensing to broaden possible employment location. Training will include an introductory course as well as dealing in blackjack, Caribbean poker, baccarat, roulette, and craps. In the future, the school plans to offer courses for students who aspire to become pit bosses and mangers of casinos, added the report. Due to the passage of the Gambling Act in Taiwan, the increasing prospect of off-shore gaming facilities will make dealers hot jobs in the future, said a school spokesperson. According to an official at the Cross-Strait Center at TCMT Chang Shi-shian, the starting salary of a dealer is around NT$50,000 per month, while top dealers can earn more than NT$1 million in annual tips alone. | |||||||||||||
