Updated Friday, July 3, 2009 9:40 am TWN, The China Post news staff MRT Neihu line opens July 4According to TRTC, although the Muzha line will be offline for only three hours, two routes of free bus service will be provided from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The buses will run in two-minute intervals during peak hours and every five minutes during off-peak hours. Route 1 (Xinhai Route) will run along Xinhai Road, stopping at Zhongshan Junior High School Station, Nanjing E. Rd. Station, Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, Daan Station, Technology Building Station, Xinhai Station, Wanfang Hospital Station, Wanfang Community Station, Muzha Station, and Taipei Zoo Station. Route 2 (Jungong Route) will run along Jungong Road, stopping at Zhongshan Junior High School Station, Nanjing E. Rd. Station, Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, Daan Station, Technology Building Station, Liuzhangli Station, Linguang Station, Muzha Station, and Taipei Zoo Station. In anticipation of the opening of the Neihu line, Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin invited corporate executives from Neihu Technology Park (NTP) for a test-ride on the new trains and emphasized the convenience resulted from the line — a ride from NTP to Taipei Songshan Airport will take less than 20 minutes, reported local media. The executives, however, gave mixed reviews. Some worried that the Neihu line would not be able to accommodate the more than 90,000 passengers going to NTP everyday, continued the report. Yancey Hai, CEO of Delta Electronics Incorporated, is optimistic though. He said that the Neihu line will increase NTP's competitive advantage, added the report.
