Serial sex offender arrested for six assaults in Taoyuan

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Yesterday, police arrested a 30-year-old serial sex offender, involved in five sexual assaults since last August, near the sparsely populated Taoyuan High Speed Rail station area, according to the United Evening Daily.

On May 26, the suspect allegedly dragged a 17-year-old woman into the bushes, took off her clothes and licked her entire body. Fortunately, she was not raped due to her coming menstruation.

She decided to go straight to the police, without showering or cleaning up, so they could collect the DNA of his saliva left on her body. The authorities found that the DNA matched that of the suspect responsible for the other five sexual assaults by the High Speed Rail station.

The suspect was caught in an Internet cafe in Jhonghe, Taipei County.

According to police, the suspect, surnamed Liao, looked for women who were riding bikes or scooters alone. He then bumped them off and beat them unconscious, and then dragged them into the bushes and violated them.
