n which one million runners from 25 cities in the world will take part, the event's sponsor said yesterday. The event, called "Nike+Human Race" sponsored by the sporting goods maker, will take place on Aug. 31. Runners from 25 cities, including Taipei, Tokyo, New York and London, will take turns to complete the race in the course of one day.
The Taipei run will begin at the Taipei City Hall at 6 a.m. as the organizer hopes to sign up 20,000 runners for the race. The total length of the run is 10 kilometers.
In order to help participants train for the race, Nike will hold a training camp from May 29 to July 20, where runners will be instructed by two professional marathon runners -- Kevin Lin and Wu Wun-cian. Wu will take part in the Summer Olympics in Beijing.
