TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A male TV entertainer yesterday openly apologized to the public for acting obscene

ly against a woman, and begged the public pardon him.

The entertainer, named Yang Shih-hsuan, now playing a role in an idol opera produced by Gala International Communications, made the apology at a press conference in the company of his lawyer Lin Cheng-ho and manager Wu Tsan-chi.

Yang was recently accused of dogging a woman in a building, tearing off her stockings and taking a picture of her privates. But Yang categorically denied the accusation, saying that he got together with his manager on the day of the alleged obscene behavior against the woman.

But following days of deep thought, Yang decided to confess to the misconduct at a press conference in the company of his lawyer and manager.

Yang told the press that he recently took anti-melancholia medicines to ease his heavy working pressure. "I don't why I had conducted such wrong behavior after taking the medicine. I feel quite ashamed for this and hope everybody can pardon me."

Lawyer Lin said that but for Yang's pressure coming to a critical point, he wouldn't do the indecent act.

Yang has asked for one-week of leave from the idol opera which he is engaged in.
