In one of the most extreme cases, a rider was caught riding at 121 kph while traveling on a section near the Huachung Bridge on the Huanhe Expressway, where the speed limit is 60 kph, traffic police said. During the same period, the number of traffic violations by heavy motorcycles on ordinary roads amounted to 357, including 288 speeding violations, the tallies indicate. The figures mean there was a total of 353 speeding violations by heavy motorcycles in the city during the period, accounting for 81.5 percent of all traffic violations by this type of vehicle, according to the tallies.
