Those bidding to sponsor the show include the Taipei city government, the Presidential Office, as well as many enterprises, the reports said. Rumor has it that the Taipei city government is out of the game, and the Presidential Office will most likely sponsor the spectacular fireworks show and flash the "U.N. for Taiwan" slogan on the building to promote its current campaign for U.N. membership under the name Taiwan.
Hau said that the management of Taipei 101 "has maintained good, cooperative relations with the Taipei city government, " and that he believes a major business building will not be at odds with the city government's wishes.
