Hotel room art expo to open in southern TaiwanCNA TAIPEI--An art expo that opens on March 23 in Tainan will offer a new twist: showcasing art in hotel rooms to bring it closer to the public.
March 7, 2013, 12:00 am TWN Over 40 galleries will showcase more than 1,500 paintings, sculptures and other artworks in 51 of the 315 rooms at the Tayih Landis Hotel Tainan, the Taiwan Art Gallery Association said Wednesday. “The biggest feature of a hotel room art expo is that unlike exhibitions in museums, it allows viewers to enjoy art in a less serious way,” even imagining the works hanging in their own rooms, said Zoe Yeh, an association official. The art on display will be laid out on beds and other furniture in rooms on the upscale hotel's eighth and ninth floors, booked by the association at a discount.
