'Kiss mango' activity among the fun on offer at Siraya park

The China Post news staff --The Tourism Bureau is inviting one and all to a series of summer leisure and tourism activities at the Siraya National Scenic Area in Southern Taiwan. The fun events kicked off earlier this month and will last through to the end of August.
The bureau's Siraya National Scenic Area Administration and the Tainan government's Department of Culture and Tourism recently held a press conference publicizing the activities, hoping to attract more people to spend their summer vacations in the area.
Five major series of activities will be launched during the June-August period in the scenic area, said Director-General of the Siraya National Scenic Area Administration Liao Yuan-lung. These include the “ kiss mango with love” activity to be held on June 30 in the Green Tunnel of the Yujing District, a hometown of mango, in Tainan City.
The activity will see 99 couples invited to join the competition of “exchanging a kiss via a mango,” and the top three winners, measured by the duration of their kiss, will be given cash prizes of NT$3,000 to NT$10,000.
On another front, a photography competition is being held till July 16, with a total of NT$120,000 in cash awards to be given to the winners in the contest. Participants are advised to mail their photographic works concerning beautiful lotus of Baihe and butterflies of the Red Leaf Park on the Guanziling Scenic Area to the organizer of the competition before the deadline.
In addition, the “Explore Siraya” camp will be held for seven sessions from July 9 through Aug. 24, with each session to last five days and four nights and include 40 to 80 participants. Fourth grade elementary school students and junior high school students are welcome to register their attendance to enjoy wonderful experiences at the camp.
