But Du Du's owner, surnamed Chang, considered the sum 'excessive,' adding that the injury did not require three operations and a 15-day stay at the veterinary hospital. The two owners managed to work out settlement costs, with Chang giving his word that “there will not be a second time,” said the report. Du Du was not present at the arbitration meeting.
