Updated Saturday, December 26, 2009 1:52 pm TWN, CNA Tainan railway station to draw on solar powerWhen the railway station becomes operational in April next year, it will be able to generate up to 16.1 kilowatts of electricity each day and save an equivalent of 84 tons of carbon dioxide emissions a year, Tainan County Magistrate Su Huan-jhih said. The station will generate solar power through solar panels and thin-film solar cells that have already been installed on the station's roof and on top of the covered waiting platform.
