Teacher gets 73 years for 9 counts of sexual assaults

TAINAN, Taiwan -- A Tainan county high school teacher was sentenced to 73 years imprisonment yesterday by Tainan District Court for sexual assaults of nine female students during the past ten years.

The teacher, who claimed to have psychic power to foresee students' previous lives and afterlife, has harassed a total of nine students since 1999 and threatened them not to tell anyone.

According to the verdict, the teacher forced students to have sexual intercourses with him or he would course students to contract sexual transmitted diseases, to have a broken marriage or a ruined life. He also videotaped his sexual intercourses with students.
