Updated Tuesday, November 24, 2009 11:14 am TWN, The China Post news staff Clock store owner robbed of NT$77 mil. cashThe robbery took place at 3 p.m. after a watch shop owner, surnamed Tsai, withdrew more than NT$77 million in cash from the local branch of Mega Bank and returned to his shop a few blocks away in the same city. While Tsai pulled his car in front of the shop, three gunmen wearing masks approached him and grabbed the two trunks filled with cash which he had brought from the bank. Two of Tsai's employees saw and rushed out to stop the gunmen. During the squabble, one of the robbers shot and wounded the foot of a female employee. Later, the gunmen made away with the cash in a car which was later identified as a stolen vehicle, according to the police. The injured woman was sent to a hospital and diagnosed with a fractured leg bone. The banker said that a bill of NT$1,000 banknote weighs 0.6 kilogram and NT$77 million weighed 46 kilogram which should have taken at least two people to carry away. According to the bank's accounting, it takes 15 seconds to count a NT$100,000 stack which a teller needs to count twice. Counting a NT$77 million takes more six hours to finish.
