College student gets life for killing ex-girlfriend

The student, surnamed Hung, began to have a grudge against his former girlfriend, a classmate surnamed Liu, after she began seeing somebody new last November, three months after they broke up, the verdict by the trial of first instance pointed out.

Last mid-December, Hung hid near where Liu was staying. He waited until her new boyfriend, surnamed Yan, picked her up with his scooter, and then followed the couple. Later, Hung hit the scooter with his car, knocking Liu and Yan over.

Before Liu could get up, Hung ran her over twice and killed her before turning to Yan, who escaped death, but sustained leg injuries by jumping onto the traffic island.
