Updated Friday, March 19, 2010 9:44 am TWN, The China Post news staff Robbery gang recruited members from fake adsAccording to Taichung prosecutors, the masterminds behind the group were two men surnamed Chen and Chang, who wished to recruit new accomplices. Appealing to the jobless, the pair posted in newspapers, ads for “salesmen,” or “business commissioners.” The potential jobs lured a then unsuspecting but soon acquiescing pair of men surnamed Tseng and Wu. Together, the group accrued a miscellany of victims, robbing beauty salons, women lured from internet networking sites, and even landlords from whom they feigned interest in renting rooms. The ad-enlisted crime syndicate was busted when police were able to trace the robberies to the perpetrators' cell phone signals and car registration plates. The Taichung District Prosecutor's Office have charged the bandits with committing torture and aggravated robbery; Due to the severity of the crimes committed, prosecutors are demanding heavy sentences when the case goes to court.
