Spending one day and one night, despite failing to discover the man during the initial search, the police finally located the lost man in Tachia early morning on March 6, after receiving further information from the person who reported the case, such as the license plate and the type of the man's scooter. The police also contacted the man's son, who had reported his lost father to the Hsinchu Police, to obtain his characteristics. The 77-year-old man, surnamed Lin, was found lying on the ground along with his scooter due to starvation. After rushed to the hospital, Lin has recovered and returned home with his son. The man might have lost direction due to his bad eyesight and thus reached Taichung from Hsinchu by mistake, according to the police. Thanks to the online report, the lost old man was found.
