Taichung Mayor Jason Hu voted No. 1 doting husband

Yahoo! conducted the online voting Jan. 28-Feb. 3, in which Hu was voted as the most devoted husband by 7,860 visitors to the Web site, ahead of actor Lee Li-jen with 6,437 votes and Sean Lien, a celebrity, with 448 votes.

Hu said he felt a bit “depressed” after learning of his new title. “I really feel embarrassed at so frequently being a survey target by the media.”

“Does this mean that I should not run in the year-end mayoral election for the new municipality (that merges Taichung City with Taichung County)?” he asked.

Pointing out that he has not yet made a final decision on whether he will run and that he had not discussed the issue with his wife, Hu said he will ponder the issue when on vacation in Britain with his wife in the middle of the month.

“I will make a final decision in late February or early March after my return from Britain,” he said, adding that “probably I will make a decision that will surprise everyone.”
