Drug dealers test modified guns on national freeway

TAICHUNG, Taiwan -- Six men were yesterday arrested in Taichung County for drugs trafficking and reconstructing guns, according to the TVBS news channel.

The lead suspect, nicknamed “A-Hsi” and five other accomplices formed a drug dealing group. Worried over possible threats from their criminal partners during drug transactions, the suspects modified guns to protect themselves and tested the weapons in the air on a natioanl freeway in the middle of the night.

Upon capturing the suspects, police found two modified guns and plenty of ammunition from the bottom of the passenger seat of their vehicle.

According to the police, the group bought model guns the same size as the real guns and modified the models into Colt 90-esque firearms using simple tools such as vice clamps and electronic drills.

The police said that the group has forged several fake ID cards and police service cards to escape from the seizure of law enforcements.

The suspects who used counterfeit police cards were being investigated for possible involvement in illegal debt collection schemes.
