TAICHUNG, Taiwan -- A pair of lovers, both nude in bed together, were not indicted for adultery yest

erday.

Taichung district prosecutors dropped adultery charges filed by the cuckolded husband against his 50-year-old wife Wei Ming-yueh and her lover Yu Hsien-lin, 41.

Liu Hsueh-lung, the husband, called police to help him catch the naked lovers in bed at a Taichung motel on Aug. 10.

The pair, however, pleaded innocence when arraigned before the prosecutors.

"We were both naked and in bed together," the lovers admitted. "But we were just chatting," they insisted.

When they were found, they covered their private parts with a bed sheet. That alone was not enough evidence to press adultery charges against Yu and Wei.

Police and the husband couldn't supply any more evidence, such as condoms.

However, prosecutors indicted Yu for bodily attacks.

Yu started beating Liu when he was found "chatting" in bed with the latter's wife.

The husband had a doctor certify that he was injured in the beating.
