According to the treatment institution, A-he's father had stopped contacting his son and the institution for nearly two decades and owed the Bethany Home about NT$1 million in care service fees. “We thought A-he's family had decided to cut all contact with him,” a representative of the Bethany Home told Apple Daily. “But his father recently contacted us saying he wished to take A-he to claim his vouchers himself.” “Seeing how A-he misses his family, we are willing to cease our efforts in claiming his father's debt in the meantime,” said the representative.
