With its flat terrain, Kinmen is considered by many to offer an easy riding environment that offers beautiful street-views, tree-lined roadways, and nostalgic traditional houses. A further attraction is that comparatively few vehicles and pedestrians ply the island's pathways. Kinmen has become one of the most popular biking destinations in Taiwan, according to the office of Kinmen National Park.
The weather is most comfortable in November. A bike tour in Kinmen serves to promote healthy living, energy conservation and carbon reduction. With Kinmen's beautiful countryside, the biking tour will relax the body and mind, the office of Kinmen National Park said.
This is the third year that the island-wide biking event is being held. A total of 600 participants will be allowed to bike the 70-kilometer ride. The tour starts from Kinmen National Park Visitor Center (also known as Zhongshanlin Visitor Center) and will go through several traditional villages and houses, providing bikers with plenty of chances to savor the island's best sceneries. Registration begins today and runs until Oct. 15. For further information, visit Kinmen National Park's website: http://www.kmnp.gov.tw/
