Chinese drug smugglers nabbed off Penghu

PENGHU, Taiwan -- Mainland Chinese drug smugglers were caught off the waters of one of Taiwan's outlying islands on Saturday, according to the Central News Agency.

A mainland fishing boat carrying 8 smugglers — 6 females and 2 males — was tracked down by the Tainan coastal patrol corps, according to the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau in Chiayi County's investigation office on Penghu Island. The smugglers were later sent to Chiayi local authority on Saturday afternoon for further investigation.
