Kinmen services resumed ahead of projected time

KINMEN, Taiwan -- Services for the Kinmen mini three-links resumed yesterday afternoon ahead of the predicted schedule to accommodate the large number of travelers stranded due to Tropical Storm Linfa.

Ferry services between Kinmen and Xiamen resumed early yesterday afternoon, half-a-day ahead of the original re-operational target of today. Both sea and air services to-and-from Kinmen were disrupted on Sunday as Linfa passed through the region.

Air services had resumed operations early yesterday morning but sea services had planned to be suspended until today due to turbulent wind and waves.

However, as the weather conditions improved, port authorities of Kinmen and Xiamen reopened the water routes to alleviate over a thousand travelers stranded on either side of Taiwan Strait by the storm.
