International Boat Show to open in Kaohsiung

The Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC) underwent exhibition decoration yesterday in preparation for the first ever Taiwan International Boat Show, set to convene in Kaohsiung from May 8 to May 11.
Sponsored in partnership between the Kaohsiung City Government and the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs (經濟部國際貿易局) and endorsed by the Taiwan Yacht Industry Association (台灣區遊艇工業同業公會), the event will be organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA, 中華民國對外貿易發展協會) with over NT$7 billion worth of exhibits to be showcased simultaneously.
The 2014 Taiwan International Boat Show will not only be the first boat show in Taiwan, but also the only indoor boutique yacht exhibition in Asia. Over 80 percent of the international boating industry will be in attendance to showcase their merchandise featuring 139 companies from countries including Taiwan, Australia, the U.S., UK and Italy.
To accommodate the show's eye catchers, the upscale luxury yachts, TAITRA has organized 20 slots on open water for the yachts to be displayed in their entirety, with 861 booths for the selection of show attendees to browse on various boat related products.
Aside from the show, TAITRA has also designed a series of lectures and events to promote the culture of leisure at sea to the general public. The events will be presented by experts from the area to provide to attendees with an interest for the open waters. Tickets are currently on sale at all iBon booths located inside 7-Elevens all across Taiwan.
