TAIPEI -- Several NBA legends including Hall of Famers Clyde “The Glyde” Drexler and Dennis Rodman arrived yesterday in Taiwan to join other NBA greats in the 2013 All-Star Alumni Game in Kaohsiung on Saturday.
In addition to Drexler and Rodman, the 2013 All-Star Alumni team, coached by George “The Iceman” Gervin, will also include former NBA stars Bryon Russell, Jason Williams and Gary Payton.
The former NBA All-Stars will play Taiwan's national team in an exhibition game at the K-Arena in the southern city.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will help fund the national basketball team's training and further develop the sport in Taiwan.
A press conference to welcome the players was scheduled for later Thursday, hosted by Must Marketing Group, one of the sponsors of the 2013 All-Star Alumni Game.
Last year's All-Star Alumni Game brought Rodman, Scottie Pippen, Mitch Richmond and Horace Grant to Taiwan.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports at 6:30 p.m.
In addition to the game, the players also plan to participate in events such as a golf tournament and a charity auction banquet.
