Man rides horse in Kaohsiung city center

KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan -- A man, aged about 50, was seen riding his horse and using a horsewhip in the city center of Kaohsiung, with a dog sitting in the front of the saddle. According to witnesses, he often rides his horse to nightclubs at night. While cars streamed past, he rode his horse along the roads.

Problems often occurred when he rode up to valet parking counters. “We only know how to park cars,” a valet said. “I've never parked a horse and I have no idea how to do that.” The valets ended up tying the horse to the parking meter.

Policemen did not know what to do with him either. He appeared to have stopped at every red light, and he did not violate any traffic law. Probably except for one. Apparently sometimes when he left the nightclubs, he was really drunk. Drunk driving is illegal for certain. But drunk riding?
